Dusty Ruiter comes from a long line of hunters so hunting has always been in his blood. There was always a gun or a bow around as he grew up, and if he didn’t have one handy he would make one out of a stick or whatever he could get his hands on. BB guns morphed into high powered rifles and kiddy recurves turned into compound bows. The woods called and he couldn’t resist; thats where he’s been ever since. Bowhunting is his #1 hobby and his passion, it drives him year to year. He shot competitive archery for a few summers traveling throughout the state of Michigan and to New York to compete in the IBO world championship.
While he was in High School, he worked 3 summers at Legends Ranch helping out with ranch management. Once he graduated he made the transition to Two Hats Ranch where he was instructed in the ways of guiding by Skipper Bettis and worked alongside Jared Petersen in the facilitating of the ranch. He began guiding in the fall season and fell in love with the job.
Dusty has bow-hunted throughout the country for whitetail and elk and is an avid bowhunter in his home state of Michigan. He also enjoys snowboarding, fishing of any kind, camping, hiking, and pretty much anything where he gets to spend time in the Creation that reveals the Glory of God.
